MW4 Cast & Voice Actors

Quick Answer

Explore the Modern Warfare 4 cast, including Barry Sloane as Price, Young Mazino as Park, Samuel Roukin as Ghost, and Mads Mikkelsen as the Archer. Learn more.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 cast combines returning performers from the rebooted Modern Warfare series with new actors playing figures on the Korean front. Barry Sloane returns as Captain John Price, Samuel Roukin plays Simon “Ghost” Riley, Elliot Knight returns as Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and Mads Mikkelsen joins the series as the principal antagonist known as the Archer. Young Mazino plays Private Park Hyun-Jun, one of the young South Korean soldiers at the center of the new conflict.

This is the cast of the 2026 game, not Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from 2007. It should also not be confused with Call of Duty: Ghosts. The lookup below stays spoiler-light: it identifies actors and characters without revealing campaign deaths, betrayals, mission outcomes, or the ending.

“Voice actor” is a useful search term, but it does not fully describe the production. Infinity Ward uses performance capture and actor likenesses, so many of these performers contribute a face, physical performance, and voice to their characters. That is why several characters closely resemble the people playing them.

Central characters and their actors

Barry Sloane as Captain John Price

Barry Sloane returns as Captain John Price, one of the central figures of the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline. Price is operating outside the system and pursuing a revenge-driven mission while the conflict on the Korean Peninsula expands into a wider international crisis. That premise establishes his direction without disclosing where his campaign arc ends.

Sloane continues his role in the current reboot continuity. Price’s familiar voice and likeness belong to that continuing performance even though the character now acts outside the system he once served.

For cast searches, “John Price,” “Captain Price,” and “Captain John Price” all refer to the same character. The important distinction is the game’s continuity: this page concerns Sloane’s Price in the modern reboot series, not the performer credits from the original Modern Warfare games.

Samuel Roukin as Simon “Ghost” Riley

Samuel Roukin plays Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley. Ghost is the masked Task Force 141 figure, not a character from the separate 2013 title Call of Duty: Ghosts. Searching only for “Modern Warfare 4 Ghost” can blur those two identities, so the full name Simon Riley is the clearest way to identify the character.

Roukin’s interpretation helped define the current version of Ghost. His naturally low vocal register gave the masked character weight while keeping the performance grounded. Modern Warfare 4 continues that established casting instead of assigning the role to a newly announced actor.

The role pairing identifies the performer without requiring a face-reveal scene or disclosing what happens to Ghost during the campaign.

Mads Mikkelsen as the Archer

Mads Mikkelsen plays the Archer, the game’s principal villain and the target of Price’s revenge-driven pursuit. “The Archer” is a character name or codename, not a label for Vladimir Makarov. Makarov remains a separate character played by Julian Kostov.

Mikkelsen was selected partly because audiences can recognize him quickly as a threatening presence. The character was still shaped for Modern Warfare 4 rather than built as a copy of one of the actor’s film or television villains. That distinction matters when identifying clips: the Archer is an original role within this campaign, even though the performer is already strongly associated with antagonistic characters.

The Archer’s exact plans, relationships, and fate belong to the campaign’s story and ending. They are intentionally omitted here so that players can confirm the casting without encountering major spoilers.

Young Mazino as Private Park Hyun-Jun

Young Mazino plays Private Park Hyun-Jun, a young South Korean soldier fighting on collapsing front lines after North Korea invades the Korean Peninsula. Park provides a grounded military viewpoint that is distinct from Price’s off-the-books pursuit.

The character’s name appears in shortened and expanded forms. “Private Park,” “Park Jun,” “Park Hyun Jun,” and “Park Hyun-Jun” can all point to this role, but Park Hyun-Jun is the clearest full form for a cast lookup. The hyphen is a spelling variation rather than a second character.

His campaign viewpoint begins close to the ground-level experience of a young soldier. Price’s separate pursuit gives the narrative another perspective on the widening conflict, rather than replacing Park’s identity with an established Task Force 141 role.

Prisca Kim as Ri Ju-Young

Prisca Kim plays Ri Ju-Young, a high-ranking figure in the North Korean regime. The performance was developed around restraint and concentrated authority rather than broad gestures. That approach influenced how the character was shaped during production and distinguishes her from the louder military archetype a viewer might expect.

Prisca Kim’s name also belongs to unrelated professionals. Results for a lawyer or an account lacking a clear Modern Warfare connection should not be merged into the actor’s identity. For this game, the reliable pairing is simple: Prisca Kim is Ri Ju-Young.

Ri Ju-Young and Ri Seung-Ho are separate characters. Jeongmin Cho plays Ri Seung-Ho, while Lanny Joon plays Lieutenant Ko Jin-Hyuk. These are separate named roles; a shared campaign setting does not make them alternate identities.

The casting team behind the ensemble

Narrative director Jeff Negus and his team selected the Modern Warfare 4 cast. Negus has worked at Infinity Ward for more than a decade and has served as narrative director on the Modern Warfare franchise since 2022. He also cast the second and third games in the reboot series. His work on Modern Warfare 4 therefore follows direct involvement with the productions that established several of the returning performances.

Before Infinity Ward, Negus worked at Naughty Dog, the studio behind Uncharted and The Last of Us, and developed a background in live-action film and television. That experience is relevant to the way this cast was assembled: the team considers the relationship between a performer and a character, rather than treating the job only as finding an isolated voice for a finished model.

The production begins with a character design and may already have concept art or a direction for styling. The precise performer is not always decided at that stage. Sometimes the team knows closely what it wants and looks for a matching actor; at other times, an actor brings an unexpected quality that changes the direction of the role. Those two routes can exist within the same ensemble.

Casting could also lead to rewrites. Parts of a character changed after the team found an actor with qualities it had not originally anticipated. This makes the relationship between casting and writing more specific than simply matching a famous face to a predetermined part. The actor can affect how the character is written and played, while the narrative team still shapes the performance around the campaign.

Reading character names and performance credits

The table uses character names and military ranks together where they help distinguish people. Park, Cho Han, Yun Jong-Moon, and Ju Kwon are separate private-ranked characters; Lieutenant West and Lieutenant Ko are also separate roles. A rank is only part of the label, so it is useful to retain the personal name when checking a scene or a credit. The rank alone does not identify a performer.

Joseph Lee's role is retained as Kal, the nickname that identifies his character consistently. Kaiji Tang is attached to Zhiqiang “Zimo” Wong, a separate operator identity. The two assignments should remain separate when reading a cast list that uses nicknames rather than full names. Likewise, the Archer is the name attached to Mikkelsen's role, rather than a substitute spelling for Makarov.

Performance capture helps explain the visual references on this page. Infinity Ward's capture process uses a one-to-one actor likeness, and the person chosen can strongly influence the character's appearance and portrayal. A game character image therefore helps connect the actor's credit to the face seen in the campaign, while a portrait of the performer identifies the real person behind that role. Neither image is a separate casting announcement.

Modern Warfare 4's game cast also does not automatically establish the cast of the Call of Duty film. The film project involves Taylor Sheridan and director Peter Berg, but whether the game performers will cross over into the film is unconfirmed. A familiar character name across the two productions is not enough to assign the game actor to a movie role.

How the Modern Warfare 4 cast shaped the characters

Infinity Ward’s casting process begins with a character design rather than a completely fixed real-world likeness. The team may have concept art and a general direction, then adjust the character after finding a performer whose voice, appearance, or manner adds something useful. The capture process uses the actor’s likeness closely, making the final role a collaboration between the initial design and the selected performer.

That process affected multiple prominent roles. Samuel Roukin’s lower vocal quality helped settle the tone of the current Ghost. Prisca Kim’s controlled performance moved Ri Ju-Young toward quieter authority. Mads Mikkelsen supplied immediate recognition for the Archer, while the character could still be developed as something specific to Modern Warfare 4.

This also explains why “cast” is more accurate than treating every entry as a conventional booth-only voice credit. The actors can influence facial design, movement, delivery, and characterization through performance capture. A screenshot of the in-game character may therefore be more useful for identification than an unrelated headshot, especially for new roles such as Park, Ri Ju-Young, West, or the Archer.

The examples show three different qualities the team valued: Roukin’s vocal grounding, Kim’s controlled authority, and Mikkelsen’s immediate recognizability. Each affected a particular role within the ensemble, rather than providing one uniform model for how every Modern Warfare 4 character should sound or behave.
